General Election 2014

​​The five trustees on the Powell River Board of Education are elected by the public. Starting in December 2014, those trustees will serve a four-year term. 

Individuals who wish to run for the office of trustee were required to submit their nomination papers by October 10, 2014.  The election will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

This page will be updated during the election process as new information becomes available.

Information for Vo​ters

Voting Day

If required, general voting day will be Saturday, November 15, 2014 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and open to qualified electors of School District 47 (Powell River).

Who can vote

Resident Electors

 

  • ​age 18 years or older on voting day;

  • a Canadian citizen;

  • a resident of B.C. for at least 6 months immediately preceding voting day;

  • a resident of the City of Powell River, Powell River Regional District for at least 30 days immediately preceding voting day; and,

  • not otherwise disqualified by law from voting.

 

Non-Resident Property Electors

  • Local Elections Campaign Financing Act (NEW in 2014 - Elections BC is now responsible for local election campaign financing)
