Please register at your school of choice up to and including March 31st or at the School Board Office after the March 31st deadline. Please refer to "Our Schools" page for school address information. Every registration must be accompanied with government issued proof of age (child must be five by December 31st of the registration year). A birth certificate or passport is preferred. The Ministry of Education stipulates that parents may defer the enrollment of their child for not more than one year. Please see 'Registration Form' below. Students registering after March 31st cannot be guaranteed a placement at their school of choice or local area.

French Immersion Kindergarten
Parents may apply for space in the Kindergarten French Immersion Program for the upcoming school year by applying in person at James Thomson Elementary School up to March 3, 2017. Application forms are available at James Thomson Elementary, on the School District website, and at the School Board Office.
Grade 1 to 7 Students (including French Immersion) new to the Powell River School District or students wishing to transfer to a school outside of their catchment area

Grade 8-12 Students new to the Powell River School District
Please complete the SD47 registration form and bring all documentation to Brooks Secondary School so that it can be verified by office staff. Form can be found at the bottom of the page.

International Student Program
Students wishing to register with the International Student Program should download an application from the International Student Program Website.
What are the "Catchment" areas?
Catchment areas are pre-defined geographical regions designed to balance out the number of students in each school. It is acceptable to enrol your student in a school outside of your catchment area. Please ensure that you register with your preferred school prior to March 31st as registrations are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. Please refer to the Boundaries page for more information.
