Introduction to School and Community Support Worker (SCSW) is a new dual‐credit program for Grade 12 students. It is delivered in the first and second semester of the Grade 12 school term. Students will attend half time at Brooks and half time at the Powell River Campus of VIU. Grade 12 students have the opportunity to complete grade 12 English, take 4 of the 10 SCSW specialty courses , and complete ENG115, which is first year university level English. Upon successful completion of the dual credit program, ENGL115 and the specialty course are transferable to the School and Community Support Worker Certificate (SCSW)1 which is the first year of a Diploma in Disability Studies (DIDS), and a Bachelor in Community Rehabilitation.
