Ms. Brander's Grade 1,2's were outside today putting together this design. Along with being a great piece of art and a sign of teamwork, this shooting star is a combination of STEM patterning, and use of the natural habitat. The fall season is the best for this. Some questions that students could ask is why is one Oak tree fully red with leaves dropping and the other still fully green? How many sticks did it take to make our star? What patterns are created? Student inquiry and cross-curricular competency at it's best.
