Is my child eligible for bussing?

School District 47 provides bus transportation for students who live more than 3.2 km away (as the crow flies) from the school in their catchment area, with the exception of Edgehill Elementary, to which there is no busing currently in place.  Please refer to the map to see if your residence qualifies.   After October 1 of each school year, courtesy passes may be available to students within walking distance, and to students attending a school outside their catchment area, depending on availability of bus routes to the school and space on the bus.  Please refer to the bussing brochure for the general guidelines and expectations for riding school buses, as well as for an explanation of who courtesy riders are and the conditions under which courtesy ridership is granted.  If you wish to apply for busing, please submit an application through the District Forms Site, or call 604-414-2612 for further information.

Please submit a Pass Replacement Request if your pass has been lost, broken, or simply no longer scans.  Effective September 2018, in the event a bus pass is lost or purposely broken, a $5 fee will apply for the first replacement pass. The second replacement pass will cost $10. Any subsequent replacement passes will result in parent contact and possible suspension of bus privileges. If a pass no longer scans, it must be returned to the School Board office in order to receive a new pass, free of charge. If a pass is not returned, a fee will apply.

Bus Routes

Each year, Transportation Department staff look at the current and next year bus requests and assess our bus routes. Rather than looking at all students with bus passes, the district only considers students who qualify for a bus route, (See the "Is my child eligible for bussing?" section above). This means that courtesy rider requests will not be taken into consideration when planning  future routes.

Bus routes for the current school year will be posted after school start-up. Please remember, that just because you see an empty bus passing your house does not mean that the bus will not reach capacity prior to arriving at the designated school(s). We will do everything we can to ensure that students are bused safely each day to school.
