Classic FM

Classic FM is a term that describes listening devices that have a permanently fixed or adjustable, but fixed gain settings.

Two Types of Classic FM

 Fixed-Channel

  • Fixed-channel transmitters transmit on a single, set  channel (FM frequency) that cannot be changed.
  • Fixed-channel systems are frequently used in settings where students do not need to change channels during the day, such as when no other students use personal FM in the school.

Variable-Channel

  • Variable-channel personal FM systems are set to a specific default channel that can be temporarily changed to allow users from different classrooms to temporarily receive a signal from a common channel. (Default channel is restored as soon as the power to the receivers is stopped)
  •
