Grade 11/12 Brooks French Immersion Students Learn from Francophone Guests

Bonjour! Meet Megan Kaukus, a French Immersion teacher at Brooks and the district’s French Immersion Coordinator. Today, her Grade 11/12 classroom hosted a unique “Human Library” (La Bibliothèque Humaine) event, where students had the opportunity to practice speaking the language with Francophone guests who served as the experts and the “books.”

French Immersion is a robust program in our district, beginning in Kindergarten at James Thomson Elementary and continuing through high school at Brooks Secondary. This is just one of the many cool learning experiences French Immersion students get to be part of!
