Hey parents of Brooks Secondary students! Did you know that next week, Nov 24-28, is Career Education Week? Brooks has a lot of exciting activities lined up for students, from lunchtime chats and class presentations to online evening workshops and the first ever Friday Speaker Series with BC Pilots and Wildfire BC at the school! 


Here’s the schedule for the daily lunchtime chats, running from 12:20–12:55 in the library:


Monday Nov 24: “Want to Work in Trades?” with Erin Jones from Skilled Trades BC 

Tuesday Nov 25: “What are Dual Credits?” with Tracy Tunstall from VIU 

Wednesday Nov 26: “AI and the Future of Work” with Brodie D’Angio from WorkBC

Thursday Nov 27: “Occupational Therapy” with Nancy Van Zyl

Friday Nov 28: “Early Childhood Education” with Danielle Quinney from 101 Daycare 

Friday B-Block: 

Speaker Series in the Theatre with Clayton Deeble from BC Coast Pilots and Gregory Blais from Wildfire BC.

Career Week is a province-wide event, meant to celebrate career education and offer students a chance to get curious, ask questions, feel inspired, and dream a little bigger about what comes after post-secondary.
